Focus Theme: Circular Economy and the European Green Deal

This training in Ljubljana, Slovenia (8–11 January 2026) focuses on the Circular Economy and the European Green Deal. Participants will explore how sustainable production, consumption, and waste reduction shape Europe’s transition toward a greener future. Through interactive sessions, practical tools, and group activities, they will learn to design youth initiatives that promote circular thinking, local sustainability, and European environmental values.

About the Program

  • Are you a young person passionate about sustainability, circular thinking, and creating solutions for a greener future?

  • Would you like to meet peers from across Europe and learn how circular practices can transform our everyday lives?

  • If yes, we invite you to apply for the Participation Days in Slovenia, organized within the Erasmus+ project Engaging Youth in a Digital Green Future 2.0 (EY-DGF 2.0).

  • This 3-day international training and action program, hosted in Slovenia, will explore the concept of the circular economy and how it connects to the European Green Deal and Agenda 2030. Participants will engage in field visits, hands-on challenges, and interactive learning sessions designed to spark ideas and drive change.

‍ Who Can Participate

Participants must be:

  • Aged 18 to 29

  • Residents of one of the following partner countries: Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, Lithuania, Spain

  • Motivated to take part in international activities focused on sustainability, circular economy, and youth leadership

Program Highlights

Day 1: Welcome & Circular Visioning

  • Official opening and welcome

  • Getting to know each other

  • Introduction to the circular economy and its relevance to the Green Deal

  • Mapping national and local challenges

Day 2: Circular Transformation and Innovation in Practice

  • Visit to AquafilSLO – a pioneering company producing ECONYL® from fishing nets and carpets with a tour of their circular production process

  • Design Challenge: Co-creating circular collections and solutions in teams

Day 3: Sustainability and Circularity in Everyday Life

  • How circular economy connects to daily life: food, fashion, technology, cities, schools

  • How to communicate green stories & sharing youth ideas and voices

  • Closing reflections with ceritificates dissemination

Methodology

Participation Days use a combination of:

  • Field visits and real-world learning

  • Team challenges and design thinking

  • Workshops, storytelling, and discussions

An online preparatory session will be held prior to the event. Completion is mandatory for all selected participants.
